Helen Lester Thompson

Helen Thompson grew up in a household of never-ending needlework projects. As a result of her interest in quilts, Helen became interested in antique sewing tools. She is a member of the board of directors of the Museum of the American Quilter’s Society and a dealer of antique sewing tools.

Catherine Thuro

Catherine Thuro has lectured at museums and to collector clubs in the United States and Canada, including The Sandwich Glass Museum, The Royal Ontario Museum, The Ford Museum, The Huntington Galleries, The Early American Industries Association, and The Early American Glass Club.

Catherine is a designer by profession. Following studies in The School of Architecture at Auburn University, Alabama, she has applied her considerable talents in such diverse fields as architectural, landscape, and interior design, furniture and books; and has conducted her own landscape consulting practice.

She is the author/designer of Oil Lamps – The Kerosene Era in North American, Oil Lamps II – Glass Kerosene Lamps, and Oil Lamps 3 – Victorian Kerosene Lighting, 1860-1900; Primitives & Folk Art – Our Handmade Heritage; The Illuminator, published by the Historical Lighting Society of Canada and the designer/producer of The Marketplace Guide to Oak Furniture and The Marketplace Guide to Victorian Furniture.


Her superb photography has been used to illustrate her books as well as articles in national magazines and journals.
