Antique collectors are being alerted to mark their calendars to set aside March 13 and 14 for an opportunity to increase their collections and to meet old friends at the Southern Oregon Antiques and Collectibles Club Annual Spring Antiques and Collectibles Show and Sale at the Medford Armory in Medford, Oregon. The show will run Saturday, March 14 through Sunday, March 15. On Saturday the show will open at 10:00 and run until 6:00 p.m. Sunday hours will be from 10:00 to 4:00 p.m. Admission to the show is $4.00 and includes return privileges. Children under 6 may attend free. This is the largest of all volunteer antique show west of the Mississippi. Club members donated their time to make this event an educational, and learning experience while show patrons take a pleasure stroll down the aisles to time past. Visitors to the show are welcome to browse, ask questions, talk to the dealers who have traveled throughout the United States. A wonderful opportunity to expand and gain more information. Proceeds from the show will benefit Jackson County Libraries, Medford City Swim Program and the Cub Scout Pack 110. Throughout the years the club’s contributions to the public research library has made the Jackson County Library System known throughout the nation and the books are used all over the United States. Ask anyone who has ever been to an S.O.A.C.C. Show and Sale and they will tell you there are several things besides the great variety of merchandise, that makes it special. The most notable being the guests who preside over the Identification Booth. The $3.00 donation is taken by the women of the Medford Swim Program. The popularity of the Booth have made it a show tradition offering service to the show patrons in dating and identifying their heirlooms and treasures. If you don’t know what it is, how old it is, who made it or if its worth anything, come and let experts give you the answers. Other show traditions include the fine food always provided by the Quality Catering, glass repair by Phillip Lang, a doll hospital operated by Life’s Little Treasures, and jewelry repair by Alexander’s Jewelry. Library staff will have donated books on display that are available for check out to those having a library card.
