-Marcia Brown is scheduled to be a speaker at the Antiques & Collectibles National Association Convention to be held in New Orleans Jan 10-13, 2010. When Marcia entered the business world, she found that she needed to accessorize her wardrobe and the rhinestone world was discovered. As her private collection developed into over 12,000 pieces of costume jewelry, her hobby became her vocation and earned her the professional name of "Sparkles." She is a published author of five books on costume jewelry: "Unsigned Beauties of Costume Jewelry","Signed Beauties of Costume Jewelry","Signed Beauties of Costume Jewelry Volume II","Coro Jewelry","Rhinestone Jewelry: Figurals, Animal and Whimsicals" and a writer and host for seven hidden treasure videos for Venture Entertainment Group. She has also served as the costume jewelry advisor for the annual "Schroeder's Antique Price Guide", the "Garage Sale and Flea Market Annual","Maloney's Resource Directory" as well as assisting with other book's pricing updates. Marcia has also been a jewelry appraiser for the California Calendar Shows, The Palmer Wirf Shows and the Southern Oregon Antiques and Collectibles Shows. A board member of the Southern Oregon Antiques and Collectibles Club for over fifteen years and the current promoter of their semi-annual Antique Show. She is a fifteen year active member of the International Vintage Fashion and Costume Jewelry Club, where she has contributed many articles to the club newsletter and served as lecturer at their Rhode Island conventions.
