CB to Suspend Publishing Antique and Collectible Titles

10/1/2010 -For over 40 years Collector Books has been publishing informational value guides for collectors. During that time we have published over 1,500 titles, many of which have become the source collectors have trusted for the most factual, reliable information on their subject.

We enjoyed bringing this factual information to all the dealers and collectors while making a living and providing jobs for many families in our community.

Then the internet evolved with all its free information. Consumers slowly began to consult the internet for their information, which began to cut into the sales of our titles, so much so that we could no longer be profitable publishing these informational value guides. Therefore, on May 7, 2010, we made the decision to suspend the publishing of these types of titles.

We will stay in business and continue to release the remaining 14 new titles that are on our fall 2010 list and will continue to sell the books that are in our inventory through most of 2011 and possibly beyond. Once our inventory is completely sold out, we will no longer publish books on antiques and collectibles.

This was one of the most difficult and emotional decisions that we have ever had to make. It is sad, not only for my family and employees, but for all the collectors who relied on our titles for factual information and values. We have always felt that we produced the most reliable titles at the most economical prices within the antique and collectible business.

Please look over the attached URL links. There are eight all-new titles just recently released. The special sales section contains 39 titles with greatly reduced retail prices. So, what better time to stock up for the upcoming holiday season? I’m sure there is something you, your customers, and your friends would enjoy.

Thank you again for all your past business! And, remember, once our inventory has been exhausted, many of these titles will become collectibles themselves. So stock up today!
