Review: This book is highly informative and up to date with its descriptions and prices. I use this book as my bible for toys becouse it contains not only the easy to get prices, but also the hard to find toy prices. The only draw back that I can see is I would like to see more pictures. This is a must for your toy collectible library of price books.- Thomas J. Niedermeier

Review of Schroeder's Toys Price Guide 12th Ed. 2010 May 6, 2010 Reviewer: Discover Mid-America, April 2010
A standard in the field for more than a decade, Schroeder's Collectible Toys is now out with a new edition. This endearing reference volume includes more than 20,000 listings in a remarkable number of categories from action figures to wind-up toys. The 2010 volume is the 12th edition of the long-standing series. Included in the ever-growing span of antique and collectible toys in the latest book are those as old as the 19th century and as current as the 21st century. In preparing the latest edition the editors of Collector Books drew from a board of collectors, dealers, specialists, advisers and others. Like so many other things, the experts agree that even antique and collectible toys are subject to the newly coined Great Recession. As further evidence, they quote one expert and successful author as saying that collectibles, including dolls, "are luxury items, and like all luxury items, sales drop in a bad economy." Thus economic times can change and such changes can make a difference. In the book's introduction the editors note, "our board agrees that the soft end of the market will firm up when the abundance of the more contemporary toys eventually diminishes. As new collectors seek the toys of their youth, many will gravitate to older or newer toys, expanding their collections in both directions outside the parameters of their memories. Th foible of human nature will assure the future value of collectible toys."
